Day 01: Vancouver Whistler |
|
|
Your tour begins with a majestic 21/2 hour journey on the Sea To Sky highway. Upon arrival Whistler, transfer to your hotel. Your remainder of the day is kept free to explore this world-class four-season mountain resort. |

Day 02: Whistler to Quesnel on the Rocky Mountainner |

|
Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from the four-season mountain resort of Whistler to the charming rural town of Quesnel, the gateway to the North Cariboo. Enjoy breathtaking and varied scenery, from the river canyons and lush farmland of the Pemberton Valley, to the desert-like conditions of the Fraser Canyon and the Cariboo Plateau with its rolling hills and vast ranchlands. Highlights include the shorelines of Anderson Lake and glacial fed Seton Lake, sweeping views of the Fraser Canyon and Deep Creek Bridge, one of the highest railway bridges in the world. Your day concludes as the Rocky Mountaineer follows the banks of the Fraser River into Quesnel, your overnight destination. |

Day 03: Quesnel to Jasper |
|
|
Your journey continues eastward today to the majestic Canadian Rockies and Jasper National Park. From Quesnel the Rocky Mountaineer follows the Fraser River north to the town of Prince George and then travels east through the forests of Northern British Columbia, home to plentiful wildlife including a large population of moose. Entering the Rocky Mountain Trench you are surrounded to the north by the steeply rising Rocky Mountains and to the south by the Cariboo Mountains. Continue climbing past Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies at 3,954 metres (12,972 feet), and through the Yellowhead Pass into the province of Alberta. Your rail journey ends today on arrival in the resort town of Jasper. |

Day 04: Jasper & Maligne Lake |
|
|
Nestled in the wilderness of the Jasper National Park Jasper is the largest and most northerly of the mountain parks. Its beauty and history is set amid some of the most rugged peaks in the Rockies. Explore the natural attractions of Maligne Canyon, Medicine Lake and Maligne Lake on this tour. At Maligne Canyon stroll along the 50 meter walls while learning about its unique underground water system. Discover the mystery of the disappearing lake and board a 90 minute interpretive boat cruise (Seasonal) on the serene waters of Maligne Lake to the world famous Spirit Island. |

Day 05: Ice Fields Parkway – Lake Louise |

Awesome scenery as you continue on the most scenic drives in North America – The Ice Fields parkway. This is one of the fewe places in the world where features of the ice age still exist & is a home for Black and Grizzly bears, elk, moose, mountain goats and sheep, so keep your cameras ready! Visit the Columbia Icefield, a series of glaciers 325 square kilometres with solid ice upto 350meters deep. The Ice Field is the largest sub-polar body of ice in North America. Experience in the icy slopes of the Athabascan Glacier during your ride on an Ice Explorer. Your journey ends at the spectacular settings of Lake Louise. |

Day 06: Yoho National Park – Banff |

|
Begin your journey from beautiful Lake Louise and learn about the natural forces that have shaped the appearance of the lakes and streams found in this area of the Rocky Mountains. Begin your journey at Moraine Lake then cross the Great Divide to experience Yoho National Park, the Spiral Tunnels and Takakkaw Falls before proceeding to Banff.

Day 07: Banff Sightseeing with Sulphur Mountain |
|
|
Your tour in the morning takes you through the town of Banff and its environs. Among the highlights visit to the Hoodoos - shaped by centuries of wind, Surprise Corner, Tunnel Mountain Drive, which overlooks the splendor of the Bow River Valley, and the Cave and Basin, where Banff's history began. A stop is made at Sulphur Mountain, where time is allowed for a gondola ride to its summit. |
